our eating escapades.

just a few of the places we ate at...... with 2 (kevin and CHUA XIN'EN) foodies in the group, the holiday was a gastronomic affair..

A&W!!!! i didnt get to eat the fries.....gah!.. but we ate soooo much other things.. hahah.
for example, the best nasilemak EVER. madam kwan's! it was sumptious!

the adidas FOS that we went to.. they were so enamoured by the tiny rugby balls (or rather, the price of the rugby balls) that they didnt care if it was closing. the store attendants had the shutters half down and were turning people away, but still they stayed....

fast forward to KL

#1: xin, her blister and her durians. (sorang as usual)

#2: kevin negotiating for a durian, while xin just sits and stones (something that she's prone to doing). according to xin, it was the "best durian she's ever eaten".. and even though i was (and still am) anti-durian, i tried one tiny bit.

#3: perfectly random people in a perfectly random shot. why? because 1.they took a picture with a random trishaw rider when they wanted to take a picture with the durians. 2. who on earth takes pictures with durians on a motorcycle???

#4: our bus to KL, SANI express. never judge a bus by its name, or pick-up point, for that matter. it was quite a comfortable ride. =)

and that wrapped up our short stay at redang bay, land of the sun, sand and sea. (and the end of our lives as water babies) KL pictures soon.. PROMISE> hahahah.

fast forward to these shots first. they arent good especially in terms of aesthetics.. but it was fun. and thats probably all that matters. =) not gonna spam the jump shots here.. but these 3 poor people were willing models of the day. and they came away with muscle aches the next day. heheh. frankie was in the most pain. he couldnt walk properly, couldnt walk up&down stairs, couldnt sit with ease.. kevin couldnt walk with his legs closed, xin couldnt walk up slopes/stairs. yours truly, however, was healthy as a bee =D (thats because i didnt do any jumping/climbing up jettys). heh.

i'll let the pictures speak of some of the funny things we were doing. there'll be more to come in a few more random posts later on.

xin'en standing in waistdeep water trying to take a picture of dunno what. interesting thing was that the small pool of water existed on the shore and it was almost cyan blue in color. kevin trying to catch tiny fishes that were trapped in a small puddle of water as the tide retreated. note the circled rock near his feet. he put it there to stop the fish from escaping after failing to catch them for a veryvery long time. second circle: he used a CUP to try and catch the fast, nimble fish.
xin again, entertaining herself by trying to pluck kevin's white hair. and kevin ignored her until she really plucked a few hairs out.
EMO and SORANG. (in worldly terms) but most probably admiring God's creation. frankie gets in on the act as treating xin like a model and takes a pic of her. this makes it quite a cute shot.

karaoke.

the karaoke was our favourite place to hang out at night. we were there everyy night without fail after sitting the the bar and having a drink. the karaoke auntie was just such a dear! she talked to us, joked with us, laughed with us (at kevin)...

looking back, it was a really good opportunity for us to bless her. we were thinking of sharing the gospel with her, but, the mood didnt seem right. and i guess we all just lacked the courage. maybe we should have, maybe we shouldnt. but at least kevin prayed for her while we were singing.


the karaoke table we sat at, with a whole file full of chinese songs. once, xin and i tried to look for a song (in chinese), we had to go through EVERY entry there was.but being horrible at chinese, we didnt read it all, just scanned and see which songs had just 2 characters.. it was SO easy to miss. but thankfully we didnt.
the karaoke auntie joining us for the song called "peng you" aka. "friends". i think she really enjoyed herself..actually, we ALL did. =)

kevin provided the entertainment for that song by singing the really weird parts that just went "ahhhh ahh". our auntie really laughed until she looked like she cannot tahan. the pic is in the previous post.

other highlights.(besides the snorkelling) PART 1

spent a WHOLE lot of time slacking and chilling and just doing NOTHING. which is really the best thing about a beach holiday. at night, we hung out at the hammocks, the bars (which played stupid techno!) and the karaoke room with the karaoke auntie. this part, the pics shld speak for themselves. except for the eating ice-cream part (which is reallyreally SHIOK), the massage (pure torture for kevin, cuz he ended up with a few big bruises! haha!), the frisbee playing in the water (which made for fantastic shots, but no camera!), the shooting star, waiting for the boys to look for blue sand, Krusty 1, and a few other incidents. its impossible to list out everything here lah. ask one of us instead. speaking works faster than typing.
